Personal Fitness Trainer & Instructor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service and dynamic classes
2. Supervise and ensure all fitness and club services, protocols and procedures are followed
3. Plan and conduct primarily personal training sessions, however also fitness exercise sessions, group training experiences, and in-service education sessions.
4. Ensure the cleanliness of the Fitness Center and teaching area including where equipment is housed
5. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
6. Provide a high level of guest satisfaction through effective communication
7. Highly responsible & reliable
8. Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
9. Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
10. Assist in the recruitment, development and training of all fitness staff
11. Ensure proper staffing and scheduling in accordance to productivity guidelines
12. Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
13. Follow departmental policies and procedures
14. Follow all safety and sanitation policies
15. Perform any other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Maintain professional certifications (AEA, ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, YMCA) while continually pursuing a greater degree of knowledge and expertise
• Maintain current CPR certification
• Applicants should be capable of bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Possible Jumping; Bending; Running, as necessary to demonstrate exercise routines.
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with guests, associates, and the general public.
• Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to interact with a wide range of people.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, public etc.
