Nurse Practitioner - (FNP/AGNP)

The CRNP provides acute and chronic medical care to those combatting substance use disorders and mental health concerns.

Reports To: Medical Director/Executive Director

Department: Medical

Location: On-site, Dumfries, VA

Employment Type: Part-time | Hourly | Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities

• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess client's clinical problems and health care needs.
• Provides history and physical exams for new admissions.
• Records physical findings, and formulates individual plan and prognosis, based on client's condition.
• Discusses case with physician, counselors, and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive client care plan.
• Submits health care plan and goals of individual clients for periodic review by the medical care team.
• Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment as needed. May refer clients for consultation to outside healthcare resources for treatment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education / Credentials

• Nurse Practitioner licensure (Virginia required)
• DEA (Virginia required)

Experience

• A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a psychiatric care setting or mental health/substance use disorder environment preferred.

Knowledge / Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience promoting good health and maintenance

Working Conditions

• Direct Care position
• Part-time, 16 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday, some on-call during the weekend
• On-site
