We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Paralegal to support the General Counsel at our Greensboro, NC Corporate Office. This role is integral to our legal department and requires a proactive individual with strong organizational and communication skills. This is an opportunity to join a growing department in a company with a growing national and international presence.

Responsibilities:
  • Work in close proximity with General Counsel to manage the workload of the in-house legal department.
  • Manage both the electronic and hardcopy filing responsibilities for the department.
  • Assist General Counsel with set-up and maintenance of pleadings and discovery files for cases in litigation.
  • Assist General Counsel with assembly of evidence needed for outside counsel in support of cases in litigation.
  • Work as conduit to outside real estate counsel for all real property and leasing matters pending in the department.
  • Work without outside corporate counsel and paralegal team for obtaining information for licensure for D.H. Griffin companies in various states.
  • Assist General Counsel on review and approval of invoices from outside counsel and interact with Accounting Team to ensure timely payment of such invoices.
  • Assist D.H. Griffin companies with preparation of certificates of insurance per contract requirements for projects and renew said certificates on an annual basis.
  • Assume limited document drafting responsibilities under the supervision of the General Counsel.
  • Represent legal department in interactions with fellow employees, outside counsel and their staff, D.H. Griffin customers, and the public at large.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working as a paralegal at a law firm or in-house corporate legal department (in-house experience a plus)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Stellar organizational skills and a demonstrated track record of managing the details required of a paralegal.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to remain flexible in potentially unpredictable situations and adapt to various assignments and workflow.
